Alan G. Brown, CEO

Alan G. Brown has over 24 years of experience in digital production, digital media processing and integrated data/systems management solutions.  Mr. Brown also served as VP of Product Development for SpectronIQ, where he was responsible for the ongoing rollout of revolutionary consumer electronics products incorporating the most advanced 3D Stereoscopic image display and Internet disruptive technologies available.  Prior, Mr. Brown served as President of AllinfoTOOLS (AIT), enhancing AIT’s specialization in building user-friendly graphical user interfaces.  AIT’s clients include San Diego City Schools and APM-Maersk Shipping Terminals. 

Prior to AIT, Mr. Brown was Chairman/President of Cinebase Software Inc., a leading developer of media management solutions for post-production whose client list included the U.S. Government, Warner Bros., Kodak and the Discovery Channel.  Previously, Mr. Brown founded Animated f/x, which established a fully digital computer center exclusively for Warner Bros. Television Animation, Feature Animation and Digital Studios production operations and assisted in the production of more than 500 animated television shows and feature film special visual effects productions.  Mr. Brown has been honored with an Emmy Award from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Brown also served on the SMPTE committee for HDTV standards and he graduated from UCLA with a degree from the Motion Picture Television Department.

Damien Stolarz, CTO

Damien is an inventor, author and entrepreneur who has spent his career making electronic devices talk to each other. Damien has an extensive background as a Chief Technology Officer with 15 years of experience in digital entertainment and media convergence. Prior to co-founding aiTV, Damien’s career has involved the development of large-scale online video solutions, in-vehicle entertainment software, and multiplayer online gaming technology, with clients including Sony Computer of America, Fox Interactive, Intel Corp, Volkswagen ERL, Vizualogic, and Virgin Radio, and The Walt Disney Corporation. Recently, Damien founded and sold CarBot, Inc., an acclaimed designer of in-car entertainment computers, software, and middleware, in 2006. In the process, he led the software development for an in-vehicle entertainment system, VMOD, which won SEMA Best of Show (Best New Mobile Electronic Product). Prior to that, he had a long run as the Chief Technology Officer of static.com (later, Blue Falcon Networks and finally, Akimbo.com), which he co-founded in 1995 and successfully exited in 2002. Damien has authored several technology books including Mastering Internet Video (Addison-Wesley), Car PC Hacks (O’Reilly Media) and Video Blogging and Podcasting (Focal Press). Damien has served on standards groups including the Digital Living Network Alliance (http://www.dlna.org/) and has been a paid international speaker on peer-to-peer technology. Damien is a partner/owner of several software development, hardware development, and education companies. Damien holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from UCLA.

Stephen Brown, VP of Engineering

Stephen is an experienced system architect and engineering manager with over a decade of experience in building and deploying hardware and software solutions for networked digital media. Stephen’s skill in assembling and managing turnkey software development teams has given him an uncommon track record for on-time delivery. An extremely skilled software developer himself, Stephen has both developed on and managed projects for most major platforms in use today, including Windows / Linux / Macintosh, real-time operating systems, mobile devices, and embedded systems.

Stephen has architected, developed and deployed large scale digital closed circuit television systems managing hundreds of simultaneous digital video feeds in a high-availability, 24/7 industrial deployments.  He helped architect one of the first video conferencing systems for wireless PDAs. Stephen also created one of the earliest web-accessible multimedia database systems in the nascent MAM (media asset management) industry. Stephen’s hardware teams have developed and integrated large-scale video solutions as well as board designs for next-generation television control circuitry. Stephen also has extensive experience in commerce infrastructure, having deployed solutions both domestically and in Asian markets for supply chain management, billing, credit reporting, and retail tracking in mall environments. Stephen holds a B.S. In Computer Science and Engineering and is a candidate for an M.S. in Electrical Engineering, both from UCLA.
